Production Supervisor
Cala Consulting is recruiting a Production Supervisor for a well-established manufacturing business based in Co. Antrim. Role Overview:
As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety and efficiency standards. You will lead a team of production operatives, coordinating workflows, resolving issues on the shop floor and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production area. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably within the window and/or door industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the production team to ensure manufacturing schedules are met.
- Monitor output, quality, and efficiency on the production line, addressing any issues as they arise.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Motivate, coach, and mentor team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures related to production, quality, and safety.
- Liaise with other departments as required.
- Analyse production data to identify trends, issues, or opportunities for process improvement.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of new production processes and equipment.
- Manage staffing levels and rota planning to ensure adequate coverage and support business needs.
- Minimise waste, downtime, and rework by proactively addressing potential issues.
Experience & Skills:
- Ideally 3 years’ experience managing a production team, preferably within the window and/or door manufacturing sector.
- Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenges.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example and motivate teams to achieve goals.
- Experience in training and upskilling staff to meet production standards and quality requirements.
- Excellent organisational, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet changing business needs and priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, teams, and customers.
- Solid understanding of production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework.
- Competent IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
